Single Market Act: Twelve Levers to Boost Growth and Strengthen Confidence

The Internal Market (or Single Market) refers to the free movement of goods, services, capital and people across the European Union and constitutes an important step towards deeper economic integration.

Seldia supports the proper implementation and strong enforcement of EU Single Market legislation, while ensuring that direct selling companies can trade cross-border without being subjected to national restrictions as well as achieving a homogenous functioning of all retail channels across the EU.

Single Market Strategy

On 28 October 2015, the European Commission published its Single Market Strategy with the following aims:

- to provide a regulatory framework that fosters the free movement of goods and the free movement of services, and to enhance competitiveness;

- to remove existing barriers to intra-EU trade and to prevent the creation of new ones;

- to help SMEs and start-ups to grow and expand;

- to promote a business- and consumer-friendly environment based on transparent, simple, and consistent rules that offer legal certainty and clarity.

In this Strategy, the Commission announced a series of legislative and non-legislative actions for the period of 2016-2017.
